What’s the boundary for ad hoc reporting?

My client needs ad hoc reporting. We are asked to create a Universe that supports it. The underlying data model is transactional modelling. Client is in healthcare business.

The client has no idea of what kind of reports they gonna generate. We are asked to provide a solution for a boundary-less problem statement. I’m confused what to do?

I just upgraded our environment to SP5, prior to that our work around was to click the white cross (open in new window). Hope this helps someone that has yet to upgrade.

Hi George,

I am guessing the there is some discrepancy with your Aggregate Navigation setup. The objects that are in your detail table and not in your summary table shouldn’t need the AA function. You can try detecting incompatibilities automatically in the aggregate navigation setup to see if that fixes it.
